The Konan 16 is perfected. The development of a variety of amateur use cameras and a special camera for data collection, establoshes the company's strength in the compact camera field. |

Konan Camera Research Institute Inc. established with capital of \250,000. |

Hand-held type compact eye fundus camera developed. Entered into the field of medical equipment. Orders received and production began for data processing equipment for medical use including the medical-use binocular operation microscope, electrocardiographic system, coaxial headlight, etc. |

50x projector for shipbuilding developed. This opened up the possibility for photographic technology to be used toward industrial applications. As a result, a development project covering a variety of different industries, such as photography and shipbuilding, was formed to initiate research for the EPM system. |
